Helping Kids SHINE!

Helping children build strength, regulation, and confidence so they can participate more fully in everyday life.

Is your child struggling to keep up, participate, or feel confident?

Maybe your child avoids playground activities, gets overwhelmed easily, struggles with coordination, or has a hard time connecting with peers. You may be noticing challenges with focus, regulation, handwriting, strength, or social participation, and wondering how to best support them.

You’re not alone. Many of the families we work with come to us with these same concerns, looking for a place where their child can feel successful, supported, and understood.

A different way to support your child

At KidSHINE, we take an active, movement-based approach to therapy that helps children build the foundational skills they need to succeed in their daily lives. By focusing on strength, motor development, and regulation, we help kids grow in confidence and participation across school, home, and social environments.

How We Support Your Child

Occupational Therapy

KidSHINE offers individual pediatric occupational therapy evaluations and 1:1 sessions designed to support each child’s success in their daily “occupations,” including school, social participation, leisure activities, and activities of daily living.

We offer services in Rowley and Amesbury, Massachusetts.

EXERSHINEkids POWER Bootcamp Program

KidSHINE offers a one-of-a-kind program, EXERSHINEkids®, an OT-inspired, high-intensity exercise group program designed to enhance strength, motor skills, regulation, and confidence in children of all ages and ability levels.

This evidence-based, thematic program targets sensory foundations and motor development while teaching regulation strategies and fostering community and confidence within a group setting.

SummerSHINE Programs

KidSHINE offers unique indoor and outdoor summer programs that allow children to build skills while challenging themselves physically and socially.

These intensive week-long programs provide a motor and sensory boost through engaging themes like Ninja Week, LEGO Camp, and Wild Wanderers.

If you’re looking for a place where your child can build strength, improve regulation, and feel more confident participating in everyday activities, KidSHINE is here to help.

We specialize in supporting neurodivergent children and kids who need a more active, individualized approach, creating an environment where they feel safe, capable, and like they truly belong.

What Parents Are Saying

We have loved kidSHINE for our son who has sensory issues and low muscle tone. Amy has given feedback that we haven’t heard from previous providers and definitely not from school evaluations! It’s a great atmosphere for kids of all abilities and offers opport notices for parent classes as well. It’s amazing for the whole family!

I highly recommend Amy Wheadon and kidSHINE. She has an incredible ability to explain child development and provide information and suggested activities for parents, caregivers and teachers to create opportunities to assist children to overcome difficulties and reach their potential. Take a look at her website and Facebook page to see the fun children are having! kidSHINE is fantastic!

Just wanted to say that you guys are doing an amazing job!! I am a very “Covid stressed person” and was worried about bringing the boys back, as this was honestly their first time getting out of the house in months to any appointments. I can say that I feel VERY safe and comfortable bringing the boys to KidSHINE though with all of the safety measures that you have in place! I’m so glad that they are back!

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for an amazing ExerSHINE Kids POWER Bootcamp today. Both of my kids had an absolute blast. I will definitely be signing my children up for your classes in the spring. They both loved it! I now understand why everybody speaks so highly of kidSHINE. Amy is so great at what she does. You can tell she truly loves her job, and puts 110% into it. Thank you so much for a wonderful class!
