Parent Support Workshops

Parent Support Workshops will be held at KidSHINE several times throughout the year and will focus on a variety of topics and concernsThese one night only events will be facilitated by Lydia Butner, LMHC, and focus on a rotating schedule of topics and concerns that pertain to parenting that can all be improved by parents learning particular mental health skills and theories such as awareness of thinking patterns, mindfulness, co-regulation or self-care. Workshops will run similarly to the groups, but in a more concise format. See below for the schedule and signup for upcoming workshops!

KidSHINE offers Parent Support Groups led by Lydia Butner, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with almost a decade of experience supporting families in a variety of therapeutic settings. These groups will focus on a rotating schedule of topics and concerns that pertain to parenting that can be improved by parents learning particular mental health skills and theories such as awareness of thinking patterns, mindfulness, co-regulation or self-care.

Groups will be 1x/ month for an hour and will include some instructional elements, group discussion, activities, and strategies for home. The group’s focus is on helping you connect with other likeminded parents and take-home practical strategies that work for your unique family’s needs.

OT, MS, OTR

Emily is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist who received her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2022, from American International College in Springfield, MA. She gained clinical experience working with children with ADD, ADHD, SPD, ASD, and a variety of other diagnoses. She has her bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and considers fitness a passion. Emily is enthusiastic about incorporating the use of therapeutic exercise and movement in her treatment sessions to help bring confidence and success to children and their families. 

In her free time, Emily enjoys exercising, playing with her dog, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
