Duration: 45 Minutes

kidSHINE Amesbury

Is your child a picky eater or facing challenges with a variety of foods? Join us this summer at our Amesbury location for the return of our feeding group, Food for Fun! This group is designed and led by KidSHINE therapists trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding and aims to support children dealing with feeding mechanics issues and sensory-based feeding challenges. These challenges may include texture, taste, and temperature issues affecting eating habits and overall nutrition, leading to a limited food repertoire. Food for Fun combines evidence-based practices with play and social skills, incorporating sensory activities to 'prime' the child's nervous system for food-based experiences. Beyond eating, this includes sitting at the table, being around the kitchen during food preparation, and dining at a restaurant. Families will receive weekly challenges for at-home practice with an adult, ensuring effective skill carry-over. Join us on this journey to foster a positive relationship with food and healthy nutrition for your child!

*Please note: This group is reserved for current KidSHINE clients ONLY, and can be considered a valuable adjunct to your child’s 1:1 session. All children in this group must have at least one identified feeding goal as part of their current OT treatment plan, and in many cases, your child’s therapist will recommend this group and the frequency (1x/ week vs 2x/ week)
